Observing the variable star Chi Cygni

The Variable star Chi Cygni has a variable period of approximately 407 days. It is coming up to its period greatest brightness early August (2015). It has an average maximum brightness of about 5 but can get as high as 3.

Attached are a couple of charts.

The first is a constellation map of Cygnus.showng the location of Chi Cygni (labelled  c ) just above and to the left of Albireo.

The second is a more detailed view showing the neighbourhood of stars. Some key brightness's of these stars are shown.

See if you can find and determine an approximation of the brightness o Chi Cygni by comparing against the neighbourhood stars. Note the date and your estimate of the brightness.
